A Creative Twist on Children's Portraits | St. Paul Baby Store News

We've seen some adorable children's portraits out there. We do, after all, work with Ten Tiny Toes Photography. Last year, however, we stumbled across images that were taken by wedding photographer Jason Lee.  Mr. Lee has two adorable daughters that he has photographed in the most creative and humorous ways.  If you just look at the concepts behind the images, you can't help but laugh.

Find more information on Mr. Lee and more fun images here.

Grand Avenue's Boo Bash! | St. Paul Baby Store News

Grand Avenue held the annual Boo Bash this past Sunday and all the mini ghosts and goblins were dressed in their cutest costumes. Take a look at some of our little friends that stopped by for some shopping and trick-or- treating. "Jared Allen" was one of our favorites!

Old Toys, New Kids | St. Paul Baby Boutique News

Last week, we went to a flea market where there was an incredible selection of vintage toys. Those of you who grew up in the 70s and 80s will surely feel nostalgic for some of these toys. Did you play with any of these when you were little?

After the visit to the flea market, a particular toy store came to mind...The Essence of Nonsense was a fabulous, old-fashioned toy store that was in a quaint little St. Paul neighborhood on St. Claire Avenue. The shop has since closed, but it specialized in classic toys like teddy bears, marbles, books and wooden blocks. Not a single toy required batteries. The Essence of the Nonsense has since been replaced by the Wine Thief and Ale Jail (not too shabby!), but we will always have a special place in our hearts for that shop and these toys.

Gender-Neutral Nursery | Minneapolis Baby Store News

A growing number of parents are choosing not to find out the sex of their baby before he or she is born. Parents often tell us that they opt not to know because they love the added element of surprise. On the other hand, we also know it can make planning for a new arrival slightly more challenging in finding nursery items and clothing that suit both a boy or girl. We love that this beautiful gender-neutral nursery has small details that give the room personality, especially the darling framed art.

Ombre Obsessed | Minnesota Baby Store News

Lately, we've seen ombre everywhere - from fabrics to nail polish to hair color (perhaps intentional or not). "Ombre" is French for "shaded" and is hallmarked by a stripe of colors or tones that graduate from light to dark. Ombre can be so interesting and bold, but it can also be so soft and subtle.  Here are a few baby-inspired ways to incorporate a beautiful ombre effect.
