When we are looking for inspiration for new designs, displays or patterns, one of our favorite resources is a Norwegian blog called Norske Interior Blog. Although we can't read Norwegian, it is clear from the images that the featured designs on this blog are simple in concept, functional in use and cozy in aesthetic.
One way in which Norwegians achieve their hallmark style is with the surprisingly common use of wall paper. It seems that many Americans hesitate to use wall paper, perhaps believing it to be a dated way to decorate a space. In fact, many wall paper companies are now referring to their products as "wall coverings" to steer clear from its unfashionable reputation among Americans. We can certainly sympathise with anyone who has ever had to remove wall paper from their own walls. Nevertheless, our favorite Norwegian blog demonstrates that wallpaper can transform a room by adding a pop of color, great pattern, or subtle textured look to a wall.
While taking a tour on the Parade of Homes in Minneapolis this past year, we discovered one line of wall paper called Arte that stood out to us as beautiful, clean and modern. Take a look at how wall paper adds so much to these cute nurseries.
